At all times the best intellects of humanity attempted to find the answers for eternal questions: what is the aim and meaning of life? What is the nature of suffering? How to overcome the fear of death? What is the basis of time links? Whether man possesses free will or he is wretched creature in the hands of cruel fate in the endless flow of formation? All these questions have found their expression in mythological tales, parables and prophecies of the wise men, religious doctrines and teachings of philosophers and in the art. Wise men from ancient India and China, Egypt and Mesopotamia, the prophets of Israel and Greek philosophers, early Christians, Arab scientists and healers, all-round intellectuals of renaissance period, Western philosophers and poets – all of them have left their indelible mark on the spiritual horizon of humanity. Jnanakrishna (Mikhail Coffman), who is philosopher, Guru and Yogi – our contemporary living in Russia, in the Saratov city. His humanitarian book "Man, Destiny, Eternity or Philosophy of the Grand Unity" raises the general human issues such as meaning and aim of existence, place and role of human being in the universe. Basic concepts of the book Jnanakrishna "Man, Destiny, Eternity or Philosophy of the Grand Unity" emerge from the classical Indian philosophy and are based on main idea of Upanishad, i.e. idea of Grand Unity of Being. "…Indeed it’s just the thing. Everything is everywhere. Only the one who sees difference here walks from death to death. …This is that, – this is how the highest bliss is supposed to be." (Katha Upanishad, 11,1,9-10) While expressing his philosophical thoughts, Jnanakrishna comes to the conclusion that "generally there is no such thing as Eastern or Western philosophy, there exists only philosophy as science about Truth, science about Eternity, science about Man as Highest Reality of being, Man as Highest essence of being, Man as Highest truth of being, Man as focus of Grand Unity of being." All eternal questions of philosophy lead to one basic question of philosophy: "How, for what purpose and why absolute is transferred into relative; unchanged, infinite, eternal become transient, finite, changeable?" While searching "ultimate generalization" synthesizing ideas of Indian and Western philosophy, author poses the questions such as: What is Highest Truth of Being? What is Highest Law of Being? What is Highest Aim and Sense of Being? Main concepts of philosophy of Jnanakrishna may be formulated as follows: "– Highest Truth of being is unity of all existing and Man is focus of this Grand Unity of Being, Highest Reality of Being and Highest Essence of Being. – Highest Law of Being is Inexorably Just Law of Karma, the law of continued retaliation, law of Grand Transition, action of which is based on egoistic wishes and absolute freedom of will of man as focus of Grand Unity of being; Man is free to wish but obliged to reap - this is the essence of Karma Law. – Highest Sense of Being is self-cognition and self-contemplation, grasping by Man his true immortal absolute nature, his immense greatness. – Highest Aim of Life, Highest Sense of Life is release from sufferings, release from Karma Shackles, Total release from ignorance web, from Great Illusion of Isolation; release from duality, total release from eternally revolving wheel of the embodiments flowing into each other, non-existing in the existing births and deaths." "Philosophy of Grand Unity" of Jnanakrishna consists of several parts and includes aphorisms "Lightning Sheets," poetic meditations "Songs-Upanishid" and "Songs-Meditations", philosophical revelations Poems-Upanishid "Jnanagitha" and philosophical concentrations "Vijananapada." Emerged from the depth of concentration, state of Samadhi and written in the quiet ascetic manner, "Philosophy of Grand Unity" of Jnanakrishna raises the reader to the spiritual height and inspires the person going forward along the Path on realization of Truth of Grand Unity in himself. |
